ORANGE DANIELS
Possible member of 8th Missouri Infantry (US)

Orange Daniels appears in the 8th Missouri reunion photo, but it is unclear if he actually was in the 8th Missouri.

The Illinois State Archives lists him as being in the 102nd Illinois Infantry - but many people changed units during the Civil War, (for example: John Byers Reed).   Orange Daniels may have been in the 8th Missouri at the beginning of the war...

According to "A History Of The Slayton Family" by Asa Walker Slayton, Orange Daniels was born on October 14, 1829.   He married Almeda E. Slayton in Busti, New York on August 10, 1851.   (Almeda was born on September 06, 1833 in Chautauqua County, New York).   Two years after they were married, they moved to Elba in Knox County, Illinois.   Then they moved to Elmwood.
